Hello all! I have been reading all that I can about Rhydin and I must say, it looks very exciting. Although, I have noticed that there is not much in the way of history, lore and so on.....If this project is still up and running, then, I would love to hear some of the story and history and lore ideas that are stuck in the heads of those feverishly working to get this to launch! A little history on myself is in line though.....I am a 30 year old male with about 15 years or so of Role Playing experience. (Not saying I am good or anything, just been playing a while..  Shocked ) Recieved my first ever 2E AD&D book at the ripe old age of 15 and began reading. I got to page 10, "An Example of Play" and then on through to page 20-21, to the descriptions of the Elves and Dwarves. It was at this moment I was hooked. I've always loved to write poetry and short stories and have partaken in online role paying boards for a few years. I was a DAoC fanatic for some time and I love the History Channel and LOtR. (I have the 50th Anniversary Edition of LOtR and loved reading all of the history and lore i.e.- The Feanorian Tengwar..... Embarassed )I have no tech experience to help in the physical creation of Rhydin for a computer, but, I hope that I can aid you on the quest to give this PW a rich history full of mental images that let the imagination run wild! You say you have a "basic" idea of what you know about Rhydin? Well, then perhaps we can chat about those ideas and possibly work to create a concrete foundation of what you see this world to be.......On a final note, I have DM'd many PnP games and have experience in creating a "homebrewed" world with towns, cities and such from scratch, so, I can help to write out such information as well. (again, not saying I am any good at it, but can help lighten the work load?  Wink ) I sure hope this project is still up and running because it has been some time since I got a chance to write and be creative and my imagination quivers with excitement.....

Hello there, Alalium, and welcome to the forums! ^_^

I'm not sure myself anybody's still here (had to leave for a "while" and just recently returned), but if you'd like to take a chance at doing work that MIGHT not make it into any module because nobody will ever read this, then I'd be more than happy to be your "technical extension"... XD

Rhydin is very versatile when it comes to places and background, so I'd say anything you can come up with would help shaping the part of the world represented in-game. If you want to come up with some NPCs (and their background), the basic layout and the history of a town or two, a couple of books and pieces of poetry - I'd be honoured to turn those concepts into in-game material.

I just really hope Rhydin didn't "die" in my absence, for Ashura is a genius at most everything she does! Wink

Well, if this is a dead project, then, it would be a shame. Nearly everyone who has posted regularly on this board has shown the dedication it takes to get it up and running. The same dedication and attention to detail I have a passion for when it comes to D&D creation. Rhydin has a wonderful chance due to the unique ideas that are being poured into it. I will give it another day or so, and if no activity is shown, then, I will move on with nothing lost....Thanks.  Wink

I submitted an absolutely immense amount of modified lore from my Loladins of Legend universe but it seems the deadness of this place will render such work completely pointless in the end.

Very well then....it is decided....I shall move on. I do thank you for letting me know in advance before my heart was poured into the work. I know it takes a lot of work to get a project up and running and RL does not make it any easier. Thanks again and good luck!  Smile

*sigh*

Hey there, Iskatu, good to see you - even if it's under less than happy circumstances. So me getting no answer to my PMs for a month really was because Rhydin is dead? Crying or Very sad

And good luck to you, too, Alalium! Hope you'll find a place to pour all that creativity and enthusiasm of yours into! ^_^

Wow, what stories unravel when I take a break.. Before you assume the project is dead, why not ask the creator first? Your relying false information... And you know very well, my feelings about that. After the interview with NWN Vault, I thought I was very clear on my status about Rhydin. That's only been 2 weeks ago.. Fairly recent if you ask me.

I'm still here guys, as well as the Rhydin Project. It's never stopped. I just don't post much about it, since the attention on it has wained. I do make regular visits to the forums. I"ve done loads of work for the PW since my last post, mostly script, NPC, Items, and story work. So I don't have anything as far as screen shots to present.

As far as your stories, Iskatu.. Thats where they will stay,.. I'm sorry but as I'm piecing together the bridge work for central plot. Your lore just doesn't fit. Nice try though. =)

Its nice to see you've returned Nathriben. We've missed you.

Oi, Ashura! It's so good to see you're still working on Rhydin - I was so happy to find the forums still active, yet then even more disappointed after Iskatu's reply. Glad to see it was just a misunderstanding! ^_^

Wow, so you really had an interview with the Vault? Wait, two weeks ago? I almost daily check the Vault and still missed it... Crying or Very sad
(At least I think I did - heck, I've been out of my mind for the last couple of weeks thanks to problems at my job *mumbles*)
You don't happen to have a link? XD

So, anything I could help you with? I've been in an NWN2 working spree lately in order to get my mind off those problems I mentioned (not that I've got any better at modding over the last year *kekeke*).

And you could mail Alalium, maybe he's still interested? Argh, I'm sorry, I guess I drove him off with my answer? Didn't intend to do so, on the contrary, I had hoped we could work on some general content while waiting for an answer.

Meh. That's about as much as I can do, then. You wanted me to post them, now you don't want them. I never see you on so I can only assume either this is taking simply way too long to get going or you are busy with other things. All that work is now for nothing.

If you really want to get more attention you're going to have to be more active. This disappearing for two weeks/months business will kill your project before it even begins simply because no one's going to be interested or even know it exists. I know it's turned me off.

Honestly I would have rather you said you'd quit rather than saying you'd just ignore everything I'd written. Especially considering I had said I was willing to conform things to your lore.

You never see me on, thats real funny coming from you, since you blocked everyone from seeing you online in the first place. "People who live in glass houses should never throw stones. " Comes to mind. And when you do see me online, you send me a message, and sign off, claiming never getting my replies. So obviously you've got some issues you need to work out there.

Thats what the interview was for, and the countless ad promos on the vault, not to mention the posts and threads on the offical forums. Don't talk about stuff you know nothing about. Open your eyes and look for a change.

I've never ignored anything you wrote, I've read all of it entirely. Some of it was good, others seems to be replicas of each other. I told you from the very beginning that I wasn't going to include everything you gave. We had an agreement on it, in fact.  I thanked you on several occasions about the amount of work you put in. I even named you in the interview. But as I've said before, your lore doesn't fit with Rhydin's. Its to space-age, and sci-fi to fit in a medival world setting such as Rhydin. That I"m sure I was clear on. End of discussion.
