Seems my inactivity has been called into question yet again. I'd love to see someone build a good, detailed, NWN2 PW on their own in under a few months...

This stuff takes time people, especially since I'm the only one who is actually, ....technically, .....*BUILDING* the thing. I devoted most of my time to it, but every once in a while I need to break away from it, so I don't go crazy.

I'd love to stay active on these forums everyday, but it gets kind of mundane, when its the same people who knows everything about it already.

As I've said in earlier posts, if you have something you want to contribute to the project. You know my email address. Send it to me. And if it fits, I will include it.

Meep - just wanted to say I'm sorry if I conveyed the impression I would question your activity! Crying or Very sad
I have been working on an NWN1 PW on my own for about one and a half year, and both my speed and my activity in the forums matched yours - just that we both know how much easier working with NWN1 was. Thus, I hope you know just how much respect I have for you for NOT giving up by now! ^_^

But back on topic: I have DEFINITELY not read that interview before (so maybe I haven't completely gone crazy by now Razz), for I'm sure I would have remembered reading my name there (though it's missing an "a" XD)! Good one, I especially love the overall positive undertone! Too many frustrated people hanging around the NWN2 forums...

Harrr... I know a celebrity now! XD

So, mention this forum here and there. Say you'd like some help. Most people are here because of the demo module you posted, not because you've been advertising. I look around every now and then and other than the demo module and the effects pack I don't see a mention of your name anywhere. Maybe advertise your demo module as a primer. Say something like, "A PW is nearing beta".

Yeah I know you're busy with the PW but if you want it to be active you're going to have to spend time getting the word out. Not being active in your own forum, even if it's just people you already know, doesn't help. Even if it's just minor update posts, it shows you're active, and that helps us out too.

I'm a voice actor for a starcraft campaign that's been under work for like 2 years. They have had a very rough time with staff problems and leadership issues. But like you, they do have some stuff to show off. Even if it's just screenshots, everyone knows their name now, because it's quality work. Those screenshots you've shown us, they could go a long way to helping get some activity going. I know you've got more you can show off, because you've been so busy.

I don't mean to sound callus or trolly, but this is something I deal with on a daily basis.

Tell you what. I can even help you out. When the beta comes out, I can get you a good note on all of the sites I am an influence at. I know there's some NWN players in those places and maybe I can garner some feedback for you.

Nathraiben> I would say people have a reason to be frustrated with NWN2. It performs very poorly and obsidian's support has been less than stellar. I guess part of the problem can be blamed on Atari forcing them to release an alpha, but seriously - why force out an expansion when the first game isn't finished as it is? That's EA logic.

I've done that, Iskatu. More then I care to admit infact. But it's either promote a PW that isn't made, or finish the PW and then Promote. .. Maybe some people can do both, but I cannot. Given my limited time as it is online.

I'm the most active person here!. Look at my post count, and look at everyone elses!. The proof is right there infront of you. Until I see your count higher, or anyones for that matter. I dont want to hear another comment about me not being ACTIVE in my forums.

Yes, this is true. I've got alot to show off, but most of it is all in the same areas you've already seen. Most fo the systems and scripts I've done, (and working on still) have all been posted here.

Well, you'll be doing us a favor then. Why wait? Start now.

We'll see. Right now I'm not too happy with your attitude about this and the nature of your responses.

Most of your posts aren't regarding the module and you don't have that much of a lead on me, not that post count actually matters in this kind of a matter. If I could pull up forum statistics I would but this board doesn't seem to have that feature.

My attitude? Your the one spewing slanderess comments at me, and my "life's work" here. I'm merely defending myself, and pointing out facts. If your so sensitive, then don't submit such negative statements. Because I am not one, to just sit around and take it.

122, out of 177? That's 55 posts, if you want to get mathmatically correct, and technical. 55 posts worth of information regarding the PW, and replies. Yeah,.... I think that out weights most of you've posted here. Especially since I prune alot of the messages here, so 177 of my posts would be a higher count if I didn't delete older posts.

Look, I don't mean to sound angry, and I apologize if that's how everyone is feeling. It's not my intention, however.. I will NOT stand by and have someone talk badly about my work, and progress in this endeavor. I've worked long... and I've worked hard. And if you don't like the way this PW is getting handled, built, and promoted. Then there's nothing holding you here, Iskatu. As I've said before, I appreciate all that you've done, but if your not happy, then the last thing I want to do is prolong your grief.

I'm not trying to talk bad about your work. I think you've done a great job here and I want you to keep it going. I just think that the word could go out about it more. I don't mean to attack you, or your work here. As I said, I may seem condenscending, but that is not my intention. I have had too rough of a week, and perhaps this was a bad time for me to try to convey my thoughts. But I stand by my opinions. All you have to say is, "Sorry, I'm too busy with real life to worry about advertising AND building the PW." That's fine. I understand that. But when you bring out personal attacks in the other thread and start falsely accusing me of blocking you/other people... yeah, I don't like that.

My post count also just sharply dropped because I purged all of my posts out of the staff forum.

The irony about this is I just got through telling sow to not advertise too early. Personally I think you are nearing the point where it'd be a great idea to capitalize on the amount of work you've done. Cool, you've got an interview - take it to the next level, capitalize on this new publicity and get the word out. But that's just my opinion. Like everything else I've ever suggested, they are simply that - suggestions. It is up to you what you want to do and I'll support you in either case.

Ok Iskatu, understood. Its good to have discussions like these. It helps weed out suspicions, rumors, and ... even aggression. I don't consider myself a fickle, fragile person. It takes alot to knock and break me down. Over the years, I'm not sure if it's me being wiser, or bitter. But it has opened my eyes to alot BS that goes on between the lines.

If there was anything I could say to rectify this heated discussion. It would be to say.. I'm not giving up on Rhydin. Its my dream for it to have a chance as persistent world. Even if it comes down to me being the only builder. Just think how great its going to be, when it does get released. That's the only thing driving me, at the moment.

Nathraiben, I'm glad to hear that. You've always been in my thoughts, and I'm so happy to see your back. I'd love to see what you can come up with in terms of areas. From what you posted before you left, I was very impressed. .. By the way. I got the birds working! They are BREATH-TAKING!!

Honestly I don't like these discussions because by nature I am an extremely aggressive person and this can be bad because I don't want to screw up with people I don't want to get pissed off. I consider everything I do more than a hobby and this gives me a very strong zeal when I deal with these things. Too many times I have screwed something like this up... and regretted it.

I really wish I could build for you. But I have too much going on and it's too hard for me to focus. Bipolar and autism make it virtually impossible for me to do the simplest things and something like module building has become a long distant dream.

I think though that if it's just you building it, then there's nothing stopping it from becoming what you want it to be. Almost everything I've ever done has been solo work and that's why they are the way they are.

Well... I imagine this whole debacle has left bitter tastes in everyone's mouth. Personally I've been awake since 2pm until now (7:30am) awaiting for you to get on so we could resolve this... and I am thoroughly exhausted from it.
