Some bad news. [Turned] Good News!

Hello friends,

I'm going to have to log off line for a couple of months for a few reasons. My sister needs my help with her two kids, since her husband recently passed. It also turned out that my lease was up at the end of last month. I could of renew it, but I've decided not too becuase my sister really needs my support right now. I will still use my ...*Big Sigh*... 6 year old lap top to browse on .. *wince* .. dail up at internet cafes when I can... However, I will be cut off from NWN2. My laptop just can't support the monster that it is. Having to pack up my desktop, and furniture as soon as I can. I really hope that when I come back, that this community has grown, and that you are all still here eager to jump on the band wagon again for Rhydin. You've all been so wonderful, and supportive so I really hope I have the pleasure in "seeing" you all in the near future. I'm not packing the computer up until Monday, so if anyone is interested in becoming a moderator for these forums for the time that I'm gone. Speak up now. Otherwise, I'll leave it as it is and hope for the best when I return. I will also release a VFX Pack 3.5 this sunday. Just something to keep the outsiders interested.

Well, I hope to see you all soon before monday. PM me if you need too. I'll be checking email periodically through the weekend. And so with that I send out my love, and admiration for you all.

I know exactly what you're going through.
Coincedently I had just moved away from SF (off of Geary) last year after some family/financial problems myself.

Anyways, good luck with your sister and her kids. Bad circumstances indeed. Games can wait.

Once the editor gets fixed and I can return to work, you can gaurantee I'll have plenty of stuff waiting for you when you return. That's about all I can really offer. If you wish, I can write out more villians for you as well, perhaps some regions or something as well.

Ouch, Damn. Sorry to hear about the situation. You've been a great help to our project and I am sad to hear you will be leaving the game, I'm hoping not forever. You are a great person and I really appreciate all the assistance. Hmm, I'll write you a letter about the PC thing, perhaps something can be done about that. =)

You folks are wonderful. Thank you so much for all your support in this matter. It jumped on me completely out of the blue. I'm just as shocked, and disoriented from all this. I will return, there is no question about that whatsoever. I just need the time to focus on my sister for a little while. She's helped me a great deal during my time in school, and god knows I owe her a couple of favors. If there was ever a time that I've needed all of your help, it was now. The forums here I don't want to see fade into shadows of the net. The best thing you guys can do is help keep these boards alive until I get back. A new pc isn't the issue. The one I have is a pretty good one. The main problem is that its just I wont have the room or time to be on it much for the next few months. A 3 year old, and a 8 month old.. are very demanding. lol

Just as Forlorn said, real life is much more important, so just concentrate on helping your sister!

I'm sure I can speak on behalf of all of us when I say we'll do our best to keep the forums alive. We could even start a small PR campain to fill them with new life, and maybe find some people to help, too.

If you find the time to, you could write down what needs to be done (and, if you feel comfortable about it, maybe even send us what you've finished so far for us to build on) - so when you come back you don't have to start from where you left off a few months ago.

Oh I'm so glad you feel that way, it makes me feel so much better. I'll start by giving you guys mod access. As far as the pw goes, since I was going to redo the theme, I got rid of the old areas. So right now its just a bunch of scripts at the moment. I'd still like to continue work with the desert theme, with a jungle. Dont worry so much about the jungle though that'll be placed out in the ditance for now. A base region I think would be best to start with. Anything you guys come up with, I'm sure I'll love.

I really hope these few months fly by.. Second thoughts are already starting to fly through my mind. But its just something I'm gonna have to do wither I want too or not.

Good luck, Ashura, with your sister and her kids. I'm sure everyone will take good care of the forums while you're away. And who knows, something might happen and perhaps Mary Poppins appears... Well, yeah, who knows... ~_~

Though I'm not very active here due to some technical problems, I'll come now and then to check what's going on.

And, if I understood it right, the Moderators will be creating areas and the like while Ashura is away, right?
