Yes, my NPCs always come in pairs Laughing

Started writing this story, but first I have a question for Sorceress: You were talking about dark times corrupting people's souls in your story, and since I need something like that in mine, too, I though to myself "Hey, why not just use the same time of allmighty evilness".

But that part of the story would take place looooooong ago (a thousand years?), so I just wanted to ask how long your dark times lasted. Where they already around this long ago, or should I just invent my own "years of u1tiM4t3 3v1l"? Laughing
(Since in most fantasy worlds they conveniently seem to happen every other century anyway)

Be my quest. Rhydin has a history of many different "ultimate evils" occuring throughout its history. Which from a story line stand point never gets "old" in my opinion. Each generation brings its own heros, so naturally it must bring its own villians as well.

The one evil particularly concerning my story ,.. doesn't exactly involve Rhydin. She just happened to show up during a troublesome time. I dont want to go to far into it OOC here.. But the "dark times" she's going through now (in the storyline i've posted) has only started to pick up momentum recently.

It would be sad if the constant alternation of dark and happy times would get old - since for me, it's the "ultimate evil" times that are the most interesting

Well, seems like I'll have to "invent" my own then - just intervene whenever my stories seem to get a bit out of hand Rolling Eyes
(And they will, I'm kind of sure Laughing )

(I feel so very unimaginative right now - that "words keep getting in my way" kind of writer's block - and just when I finally finished that §$"&§$%§$% work that kept me busy for the last 6 months Evil or Very Mad )

"It was during the first years of the Demonkin War that Ambryl Neintar decided to no longer walk the paths of Lletherin's noble Elven Mages." A bright sun was shining down on a handful people grouped around the trunk of an ancient oak, listening to the elven speaker attentively. Faenthiir, master of Transmutation and lecturer of History and Philosophy, was casually resting his back against the tree's bark, his eyes unfocused and lost in the glittering play of light where the sun touched the lush foliage above his head. He seemed to be completely consumed by his own storytelling - one of the various reasons his pupils were always intent on listening to his lessons. "Ambryl Mhaor'Arael - Taintheart - as he came to be known as during the time of his dark machination, traded the moral standards of his kin for the freedom of unbiased studies, the possibility of doing research liberated from the strict set of rules that each of the mages of Lletherin was bound to."

Some of the young audience were taking notes with crude makeshift pencils, others tried to memorize the fair amount of names, dates and facts, but one of them seemed to be just as captivated by the tree's canopy as Faenthiir himself was. The rebellious red-head, counting no more than a score years, had placed herself conveniently at the far end of her teacher, well hidden behind the backs of her fellows, biding her time while ignoring the elf's constant flow of words: "Some say he snapped when he had to watch his mate being devoured by one of the foul beasts, others claim he had been ruthless to begin with, jumping at the next best opportunity to betray Lletherin sublime tradition. Whatever his reasons were, the outcome was the same: He brought into being those whom the dark times were named after, the demonkin. And why might he have done that, Miss Longwinter?"

"Huh?" The young girl, sprawled on the soft gras just a moment ago, straightend herself and tried to make a show of paying attention. "'cuse me, th'was that sudden gust of wind - what'd ya want to know again?"
